TATAK · serialised code printing

Tatak means mark. Ours comes with a chain of custody.

A promo is only as good as its codes. If they duplicate, leak, or can't be reconciled, the campaign becomes a liability. TATAK is CitiPrint's serialised printing service: every unique code is generated, imposed, printed, inspected, and accounted for inside one custody chain — from the press to the moment it's redeemed.

Where TATAK is used

Promos & raffles

Unique entry codes printed in-pack or under scratch layers. Code data supports your DTI permit paperwork, and reconciliation closes the loop when the promo ends.

Loyalty & rewards

Codes that credit points on redemption — printed to match your platform's format and delivered with a manifest your system can ingest directly.

Authentication

Per-unit codes that let a customer or inspector verify a genuine pack. A duplicate scan is a counterfeiting signal, not a shrug.

Characters & secret content

For brands with young fans: per-pack QR codes that unlock secret content — a character, the next episode, a card in a digital album. Unique codes turn packs into a true collection: one pack, one unlock, no screenshot shortcuts.

Secret content: the character lives behind the code

A generic QR gives every buyer the same link — one screenshot and nobody needs the pack. TATAK prints a different code on every unit, and that one change turns packaging into content kids genuinely have to collect.

  • One pack, one unlock. Each code redeems once on your content destination — an episode, a wallpaper, a mini-game, a card in a digital album. A shared screenshot is already spent.
  • Real collection mechanics. Codes map to characters, sets, and rarity tiers. A 1-in-N “golden code” rides the same rails as a raffle code — reconciliation included, DTI permit paperwork supported.
  • The character develops by press run. Every repeat run can carry the next chapter — a new episode, a new character, a new set — so the story advances on the shelf and the next pack always has a reason.
  • Your world, our custody. The characters and content stay yours (or your agency's); we generate, print, and reconcile the codes that gate them. The redemption manifest then shows which characters and SKUs actually pull.

Printed in-carton, under a scratch layer, or as a collectible insert — the same TATAK custody chain either way. Tell us the set size and the rarity plan, and we'll propose the format.

The custody chain

The point of TATAK is what doesn't happen: the codes never sit in an email inbox, a shared drive, or a subcontractor's shop.

Generate

Codes are generated to your format (length, alphabet, check digits) or imported from your platform over an agreed secure channel. Duplicates are impossible by construction, and the master file is access-controlled from minute one.

Impose & print

Variable data is merged at imposition — each carton, sticker, or insert gets exactly one code. Printing runs under controlled access: no spare sheets walk out, and spoilage is logged by code, not just by count.

Inspect & reconcile

Finished units are verified against the master file: printed, spoiled, and quarantined codes are each accounted for. What ships is exactly what the manifest says ships.

Deliver & activate

You receive sealed goods plus a delivery manifest of live codes. Only delivered codes are activated on your redemption platform — a leaked or stolen code is dead on arrival.

Redeem & close out

During and after the campaign, redemption data reconciles against the manifest. At close-out you get the full accounting: printed, delivered, redeemed, voided — audit-ready.

What you get

  • Unique codes at any volume, in your format
  • Scratch-off, in-pack insert, label, or printed-in-carton formats
  • Code manifest per delivery, machine-readable
  • Spoilage and quarantine accounting by code
  • Close-out reconciliation report for audit / DTI

Works with your redemption platform

TATAK is platform-agnostic: we exchange code files in whatever format your loyalty or promo system expects — CSV, API hand-off, or encrypted file transfer. If you don't have a redemption platform yet, we can point you to partners we've worked with.

Questions buyers ask

Why not just print codes with any printer?

Any press can print numbers. The risk isn't printing — it's custody. A code file that passes through three inboxes and a subcontractor is a leak waiting for a promo big enough to matter. TATAK's answer is structural: one converter, one chain, one accounting.

What happens to spoiled sheets?

Spoilage is inevitable on any press run. With TATAK it's logged by code and quarantined — spoiled codes are voided before delivery, so they can never be redeemed.

Can codes go on our existing cartons?

Yes — TATAK runs as part of your carton production here, or as inserts/labels that marry up with packaging produced elsewhere.

What volumes make sense?

From insert and label runs to full carton campaigns in the millions of units. Tell us the campaign mechanics and we'll propose the format.
